Kraloy Launches Groundbreaking PVC Shallow Slab Box
London, ON – 29 March 2004
Kraloy is expanding its industry-leading Kwikon ENT slab box series with a
new shallow slab box. This new shallow slab box is ideal for parkade,
apartment and office building construction and is supplied as a fully
assembled, one-piece, concrete-tight unit. The box height is designed to
accommodate various construction applications including 'post-tensioning',
where the resulting poured concrete slab is thinner than conventional slab
construction.
“The new shallow slab box offers all the same features and benefits of our
other Kwikon slab boxes but has an overall box height of 2-7/8", almost 1"
shorter than our standard boxes,” says Rich Schlieker, Business
Development Manager for Electrical Systems. “With the changes and advances
in the construction industry, the need for many different slab box
configurations has grown, so we've taken the initiative to provide our
customers with this new design.”
A strong clear polyester film has also been factory applied to the slab
box opening to prevent possible concrete infiltration during the concrete
pour. This temporary film protects the inserts and box interior, keeping
them clean and ready for use after the concrete pour.
UL listed and manufactured from durable, nonmetallic and non-corroding
PVC, the shallow slab box (SMBS/SMBS-H) is available with or without
molded ENT hubs in seven different hub/knockout configurations.
